Her father, who is a water-system engineer, is her mother. is a real estate agent. Madelyn can also be identified as her pseudonym Maddie. She began modeling at a young age, 10 years old. She often spent her summers in New York where she worked on print ads and TV commercials for companies like T-mobile Next as well as Sunny D. She was also featured on the front cover of American Girl magazine She had signed up for in the Coastal Carolina University. However she dropped out to become an actor when she was 19. She then moved to Los Angeles California against parents' wishes. Her parents still live within South Carolina but support her profession.
